UUM ONLINE: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) through its School of Business Management (SBM) continued to establish international collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa (UNTIRTA), Indonesia.
The MoU was signed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr. Abdul Malek Abdul Karim, who represented the Vice-Chancellor of UUM and the Rector of UNTIRTA, Prof. Dr. Sholeh Hidayat. The signing ceremony was held at the Visitors’ Lounge, Chancellery this morning.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Abdul Malek said, the international collaboration would bring immense benefits to both universities since it would help both universities to move up the world university rankings. Thus far, UUM has shown tremendous progress in the world university rankings and ratings.
Meanwhile, the Rector of UNTIRTA, Prof. Dr. Sholeh Hidayat said, the academic collaboration between UNTIRTA and UUM will comprise activities including a matching grant research programme worth MYR20, 000, staff and student mobility programmes, joint research activities as well as the joint organisation of workshops and seminars.
Prof. Dr. Sholeh added that, UUM and UNTIRTA have been working together since 2016 and both universities have successfully organised the International Conference on Business and Management (ICBM) in Jakarta. He expressed his sincere hope that both universities will continue to work together to organise more conferences in the future.
