UUM ONLINE: Members of the Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Student Representative Council (MPP) were urged to provide the finest services in return for the mandate given by fellow students who have chosen them to succeed as university leaders in the University.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dato' Seri Dr Mohamed Mustafa Ishak stressed that the responsibility and trust given should be taken seriously because the MPP is embodied in one of the Sections in the Universities and University Colleges Act (AUKU).
"AUKU is an Act drafted by the government, hence the responsibility of the members of the MPP is enormous and must be carried out with the highest level of trust and fairness especially as a liaison between the students and the management of the university," he said this at a specially held ceremony where the members of the UUM MPP for the 2017/2018 Academic Session were presented with their respective appointment letters at the Senate room, recently
The Vice- Chancellor also reiterated that, as leaders, the members of the MPP should also possess exemplary traits as these characteristics would differentiate between the knowledgeable and the uninformed.
He also advised all members of the MPP to jointly build UUM's reputation by disseminating good things and not remarks which would damage the image and good name of the University.
At the ceremony, a total of 38 members of the UUM MPP 2017/2018 academic session received their appointment letters which were presented by the Vice-Chancellor and later the members participated in the recitation of the pledge led by its President, Muhammad Luqman Jamalil Idrus.
