Talent Development And Risk Management - Significant Renewal Of University Strategic Plan 2018

UUM ONLINE: Stepping into 2018, talent development and risk management aspects will be addressed as the significant renewals in the UUM Phase 2 Strategic Plan (2016-2020).

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dato' Seri Dr Mohamed Mustafa Ishak said that both aspects were important to develop UUM into a great campus in its own mould.

"In terms of talent development, we need the talent of our leaders over the next 10 years to lead the university, but now we can see that UUM has done much better both at academic and administrative levels.

"For risk management, although it is already stated in the agenda but it is not adequately addressed, so I would like for all the Centres of Authority (PTJ) and Schools to have guidelines on managing their respective risks with the help of IPQ that is in charge of organizing briefing workshops to all PTJs with regard to this aspect," he said when presiding over a meeting to present the achievements of the Third Quarter (Jan-Sep) 2017 Strategic Plan Phase 2 at the Senate Room, yesterday.

Presentation of the achievements was presented by Director of IPQ Director, Assoc. Prof Dr Faudziah Zainal Abidin based on the Four Thrusts in the Strategic Plan namely, Thrust 1 (Enhancing Graduate and Internationalization); Thrust 2 (Human Capital Development and Talent Management); Thrust 3 (Building Students Holistically and Alumni Relations) and Thrust 4 (Wealth Creation).

A total of 181 out of 201 Performance Indicators (PIs) were presented and out of that total, 88 PIs (49%) achieved the green indicator, 16 PIs (9%) achieved the yellow indicator, 58 PIs (32%) achieved the red indicator and 19 PIs (10%) achieved the black indicator.

Dr Faudziah also presented the performance of 17 Schools in which three schools topped the list when they achieved the green indicator namely the School of Computing with a PI of 48.5%, followed by the School of Business Management with a PI of 42.7% and the School of Education and Modern Languages with a PI score of 41.8%.
