UUM ONLINE: Two prominent figures, Tan Sri Dato' Paduka Dr. Fng Ah Seng and Datuk Redzuawan Ismail, or better known as Chef Wan, were awarded the Honorary Doctor of Philosophy Degree from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) in recognition of their contributions and commitment to the nation in their respective fields in conjunction with the 30th UUM Convocation Ceremony.
Entrepreneur and philanthropist who had done countless charitable work, Tan Sri Dato' Paduka Dr. Fng Ah Seng received the Honorary Doctor of Philosophy (Corporate Social Responsibility) while Chef Wan was awarded the Honorary Doctor of Philosophy (Culinary Arts) for doing the country proud with his more than 30 years of contribution in the field of cookery.
Speaking at the event, Tan Sri Dato' Paduka Dr.Fng Ah Seng expressed his gratitude for the high recognition awarded by UUM to him and promised to cherish the recognition in his best ability and position as well as to continue doing charity works and contribute to society .
Meanwhile, Chef Wan said that the award was an incentive for him to continue to work harder to improve his performance as well as contribute to UUM, community and beloved country.
Both the Honorary Doctorate Degrees were presented by His Majesty Sultan Sallehuddin Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah, Sultan of Kedah at the first session of UUM's 30th Convocation Ceremony at the Mu'adzam Shah Hall.
He also congratulated both individuals who had contributed in their area of priority, and also to the people and nation.
"Based on my observation, the Honorary Doctor of Philosophy Degree is the recognition of their persistence and contribution to the University and country. I would also like to congratulate all graduates of UUM's 30th Convocation," he said.
