UUM ONLINE: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hebei University, China, at the Senate Meeting Room recently.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International Affairs), Prof. Dr. Yusnidah Ibrahim said, the signing of the MoU will foster a close and synergistic academic relationship and at the same time, develop world-class higher education programmes.
"The signing of this MoU marks the joint efforts between Hebei University and UUM to further strengthen the international cooperation while acting as a catalyst for the socio-economic development in their respective regions," said Prof. Dr. Yusnidah.
Prof. Dr. Yusnidah explained that, in keeping with our efforts to keep abreast of the current issues of globalisation and internationalisation, UUM and Hebei University acknowledged the importance of establishing international collaboration to further explore the possibilities to engage one another and move forward in our academic endeavours.
The Dean of the School of Management, Hebei University, Prof. Dr. Yang Huiliang expressed his confidence that this international collaboration will further strengthen the innovation in education.
Prof. Dr. Yang described the signing of the MoU as a brilliant initiative to strengthen the collaboration between Hebei University and UUM to meet the demands and challenges of the 21st century.
"This MoU offers a solid platform for both universities to join forces and cooperate in areas including student mobility programmes, staff exchange programmes, appointment of visiting scholars, double degree programmes, joint research and publication activities, and other potential areas that will bring about a broad spectrum of benefits for both universities," added Prof. Dr. Yang.
