Malaysian Army Reserve Officer Training Unit Braved The Challenges Of The Annual Northern Zone ROTU Training Camp

UUM ONLINE: Officers of the Malaysian Army (MA) Reserve Officer Training Unit (ROTU) braved the obstacles and difficulties without fail day in and day out to successfully complete the Northern Zone Malaysian Army ROTU Training Camp held at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Sintok.

Participants who hailed from three public universities namely UUM, Universiti Sains Malaysia and Universiti Malaysia Perlis camped out in UUM from 26 January to 9 February to undergo the arduous training.

According to UUM ROTU Deputy Commander, Lieutenant Colonel, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razak Chik the success of completing the training would have not been possible without the sacrifice, perseverance, and high spirits shown by the cadets in this highly densed training environment.

He believed that the cadet officers had successfully gone through new experience when they became exposed to the fundamentals of military knowledge and formation of discipline as designated military officers.

"By organising the Annual Northern Zone Training Camp, we have managed to unite the ROTU cadet officers from three public universities to come and practice together to achieve one objective.

"I hope such training will be held more often so that all teams will be united and become steadfast in defending the country as a second line of defence and voluntary officers," he said when officiating the Closing Ceremony of the Annual Northern Zone Malaysian Army ROTU Training Camp at the UUM Sintok Forest Camp, this morning.

He also congratulated all cadet officers who had successfully undergone the gruelling training and expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all the drill masters who worked tirelessly for the last three weeks to ensure that the training went on smoothly.

"As cadet officers we have to constantly strengthen military knowledge, the level of professionalism can only be enhanced through continuous training without being tired.

He called on the cadet officers to practice the military knowledge they obtained, to streamline their knowledge by continuing to practice and become active voluntary members by participating in practice in regiments or ROTU.
