Registration which began as early as 8:30 am took place at counters set up at the Convention Complex. It was then followed by a briefing delivered by Pn. Zalinah Ahmad, the Programme Manager of the BPM (Hons.) (PJJ) Programme.
The new student pledge recital was led by Mr. Mohd Nizar Khoja Najumeddin in the presence of the Dean of the School of Government (SOG), Dr Zaheruddin Othman; Director of the Centre for Professional and Continuing Education (PACE), Dr. Fairol Halim; Deputy Director of PACE, Dr. Mohamad Ainuddin Iskandar Lee Abdullah and UUM officials at the Seminar A Hall, Convention Complex yesterday.
In his speech, Dr Zaheruddin Othman said that the sheer determination and high spirits of the students in facing up to the challenges by sacrificing their energy and money despite being bound by various commitments have made the university proud.
"I pray that the high spirits imbued in each of you, ladies and gentlemen will help you to realise your goals of becoming knowledgeable and skilled individuals."
"We, the denizens of UUM especially the members of staff at PACE will always strive to provide the best service and comfort to the students in order to meet the challenges in empowering knowledge, upholding the name and reputation of UUM as well as producing innovative human capital through quality continuing education programmes."
"Finally, as a person representing the management team of the university, I would like to once again congratulate and pray that all of you will be successful in your pursuit of obtaining a degree," he said.
The Pledge was later presented the Senior Assistant Registrar Mr. Mohd. Anizam Ariffin who represented the Registrar.
