UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dato' Seri Dr Mohamed Mustafa Ishak described the P&P officials as the indispensable 'engines' of the organisation – a result of their important roles in ensuring the sustainable growth of the university.
"The P&P group is the 'engine' of this institution which is helmed by an academic leader. Thus, effective leader and the 'engine' moving in the same direction at the same pace can produce better results than a similar group that is not aligned," he said this at a Session with the UUM Vice-Chancellor programme attended by the P&P officials (Grade 41 and above), at the Seminar Hall A, UUM Convention Complex, this morning.
Realising early that the P&P group is the most valuable asset to the university, the Vice-Chancellor urged them to continue develop their skills according to the needs of their works.
"To be a world-class professional, talent alone is not sufficient, but continuous innovative learning programmes will help you acquire knowledge and learn specific job-related skills for your career advancement within the organisation," he added.
Apart from that, among other things, he also insisted on the urgency to act and to produce minutes of meetings within 24 hours, change bad habits to good habits, have good personality along with the ability to work as well as have strong leadership traits in order to transform the university into a high-performance institution of higher learning.
Also present were Assistant Vice-Chancellor of College of Business (COB), Prof Dr Rushami Zien Yusoff; Registrar, Mohamad Akhir Hj Yusuf and Director of Chancellery, Ahmad Rasidi Abdullah.
