UECSB signed the MoA with YBR to offer Distance Learning programme (PJJ) in the Bachelor of Islamic Banking and Finance with honors programme to the staff members of Bank Rakyat.
The MoU with ABM will see both UUM and ABM working together to promote customised courses offered by ABM and also the Human Resource Development Funds (HRDF) courses. Both institutions will also join forces to explore and embark on other areas of mutual interests from time to time.
UECSB was represented by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr. Fairol Halim and witnessed by the Chairman of UMHSB, Dato' Paduka Haji Abdul Rahman Ibrahim. YBR was represented by the General Manager, Ms. Norashikin Shaharudin and witnessed by the Chairman of YBR, Datuk Hj Abdul Rahman Kasim.
ABM was represented by Chief Operating Officer (Northern Region), Mr. Mohd Nazri Haji Zakaria and witnessed by a member of ABM Board of Directors, Mr. Ismail Mat Nor.
The Chairman of YBR, Datuk Hj Abdul Rahman Kasim said, in line with YBR objective to further develop and improve the standard of education in Malaysia, various initiatives have been undertaken by YBR including offering Lifelong Learning opportunities.
"The Lifelong Learning Programme is tailored for the staff of Bank Rakyat, of which amounted to more than 5,000 staff. UUM was chosen as YBR collaborative partner to organise the Lifelong Learning Programme because UUM meets the criteria set forth by YBR, particularly the Islamic Banking programme," he said.
For the year 2015/2016, YBR has allocated a total of MYR660, 000 for the staff members of Bank Rakyat for this purpose.
Meanwhile, in his speech, the member of ABM Board of Directors, Mr. Ismail Mat Nor said, the MoU between ABM and UECSB will see the collaborative efforts in coordinating customised and also HRDF courses.
"ABM will become the training provider while UECSB will amass the participants for the programmes,” he said.
The Chairman of UMHSB, Dato’ Paduka Haji Abdul Rahman Ibrahim expressed his hope that the collaborative efforts will equip UUM students with added advantage by preparing them with essential skills and knowledge prior entering the labour market.
The MoA and MoU signing ceremony was held at EDC Hotel & Residences. Also present were the officers of YBR, ABM (Northern Region) and UUM.
