Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Assoc Prof Dr Abdul Malek Hj Abdul Karim, in his speech at the closing ceremony of the 3K Carnival said that the carnival set to see a whole new dimension of the event through various activities held during the carnival.
"I fervently believe that the 3K Carnival managed to produce holistic, entrepreneurial and balanced graduates as mentioned in the Malaysia Education Blueprint (PPPM) 2015-2025.
A university programme like the 3K Carnival has always created a path for students who have been actively throwing themselves into activities and instil in them some of life’s important values. It is also a platform for them to gain new experiences as well as to demonstrate their soft skills.
The 3K Carnival set to see the students’ entrepreneurship skills being practiced through the opening of their sales booths. The combination of these skills is one of the steps to nurture the talent to be a leader someday," he said at the Arts and Culture Award (MASENI) in conjunction with 3K 2016, yesterday.
In addition to the sales booths, various activities were held during the event, including a lecture by a popular Islamic lecturer Ustaz Haslin Baharim, Gegar Extravaganza Night, the opening of the National Registration Department counter and others.
At the same event, the Bello-Bello group simultaneously launched their new album called Bello-Bello2. The new released album is entirely self-published by the PBS-UUM. The group was established in 2004 and released their debut album in 2008.
The guests were entertained by the 1Malaysia dance performances. Among the awards presented at the MASENI 2016 Ceremony were the Citra Budaya Nasyid Award and the Citra Budaya Seni Lukis Award.
Also present at the ceremony were the senior University officials.
