Nurul claimed her 28th Sabah Golf and Country Club (SGCC) Amateur Open 2016 title with five strokes ahead of her nearest competitor, scoring 78, 81, and 79 with a total score of 238 strokes.
"This was a difficult course to play and I am pleased that I managed to get round it the best. What is most important is to succeed in raising the name of the National Golf Academy and UUM. Achieving this position is something to be proud of," she said.
Meanwhile, Albright Chong Ming Soon gave a tough fight until the last day of the tournament before he settled in second position scoring 80, 76, and 74 with a total score of 230 strokes.
Director of UUMNGA, Assoc Prof Dr Azman Yasin said overall he was satisfied with the performance shown by both players.
"Though, there are still some weaknesses that the players need to work on including their fitness and mental strength to stay focused during rounds," he said.
UUMNGA top management expressed their heartfelt congratulations to both players and wish them every success in the upcoming tournaments and hope that they benefit from the experience.
