KPTN 2015 provides a platform to both the public and private institutions of higher learning (IPTA / IPTS) to promote and disseminate information regarding existing programmes and newly developed programmes that will be offered for 2015/2016 academic session.
The programme which ran from 28 February to 1 March attracted 50 thousand visitors comprising of Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) school leavers, Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) school leavers as well as its equivalent to the Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) promotional booth.
Former President of the UUM Student Representative Council, Mr. Amir Izzuddin was also present to jointly promote the many programmes available at UUM. He is currently serving at the office of the Director General, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education.
Also present were the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) Prof. Dato' Dr Daing Nasir Ibrahim, the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) Prof. Dato' Dr Mohd Noh Dalimin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs) Prof. Dato' Dr Ahmad Shukri Mustapa Kamal and the Director of Student Admission Division representing the Ministry of Education, Ms. Mazula Sabudin.
Chairman of Amanah Raya Berhad, Dato' Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican also paid a brief visit to the booth and personally extended his appreciation and gratitude to the UUM team for taking part in the highly anticipated programme.
Zone 1 of the KPTN started in Pahang on 14 to 15 February and Zone 9 which takes place in Sabah from 4 to 5 April marks the end of the KPTN.
