UUM ONLINE: The Culture and Arts Centre (PBS), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) hosted the Culture, Arts and Entrepreneurship Carnival (3K) from 10 to 16 March 2015. Bukit Kayu Hitam State Legislative Assembly member (ADUN), Dato’ Haji Ahmad Zaini Japar said the spirit of cooperation and unity among UUM denizens must be strengthened so that arts and cultural activities can be carried out successfully.
"We must prove to the world that we can succeed in all areas including the formation of one Malaysian nation- united in beliefs, values and perceptions towards the establishment of a united nation,” said Dato’ Haji Ahmad Zaini at the launcing ceremony of the 3K Carnival 2015 and “Buku Kronologi”, a book published by PBS at Dataran Budaya UUM recently. “Buku Kronologi” is a coffee-table photo book which traces the cultural and arts activities in UUM since its establishment until 2013.
The launching ceremony was further enlivened with the showcase of traditional and Latin dance performances. The ceremony also featured song performances by UUM students and a singer, Iqbal from Ceria PopStar.
Meanwhile, 3K Programme Director, Mr. Muhammad Rifqi Azim Md Arif said the effort done by the PBS to host this carnival should benefit the students as they can discover and be exposed to the various culture of different races in Malaysia.
A whole range of activities have been lined-up for the 3K carnival, including Trade Expo, Exhibition, Tabung Haji Registration counter, Religous Lecture by Tuan Syeikh Ahmad Fisol Omar, Event Hosting/Emceeing Workshop and Bintang Utara Singing Competition 2015.
Also present at the launcing ceremony were the Director of PSB, Mr. Huzaidy Hussain, the Director of Student Affairs Department, Mr. Mohd Dino Khairri Shariffuddin and senior university officers.
