UUM ONLINE: Dato' Muzammil Mohamad, the Qatar Airways Country Manager for Malaysia & Brunei, who is also an alumnus of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), shared his success story and leadership experiences during the “Breakfast with the CEO” session at the Academia Lounge, UUM.
The programme, organised under the auspices of the Student Development & Alumni Office, UUM COB, provides an opportunity for prospective members of the UUM Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS), including those from Thailand, Myanmar, and Bangladesh, to gain a wealth of knowledge directly from industry’s most experienced practitioners.
During the session, Dato’ Muzammil called attention to the 3 Ds i.e. discipline, dress code, and detail - the essential ingredients of a winning formula that, in his experience and opinion, plays an important role in creating a branding that has the capacity to empower one, as well as remedy one’s weaknesses.
"The academic degree is a ticket to gain an interview, but it is not necessarily the measure of all aspects of an individual. We have to know our strengths and focus on the strengths that we do have in order to launch ourselves onto the path to success,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dinesh s/o V.M. Ramachandran, a student of the Bachelor of Finance programme, described the informal event as one that fueled inspiration and boosted confidence, primarily towards becoming an executive of calibre.
The “Breakfast with the CEO” platform also provided a Q & A session for the edification of the prospective members of the BGS. A heartening footnote to the event is that many more “with the CEO” programmes are expected to be conducted subsequent to this.
