UUM ONLINE: 22 August - In conjunction with his working visit to UUM, Prof. Dr. Noor Azizi Ismail, who is currently the Deputy Director-General of Higher Education (Public Universities) at the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), shared some tips on how to increase the number of high-impact research projects with all the Directors of the UUM Centres of Excellence (CoE), at Manager's Coffee yesterday.
During the one-hour session, Prof. Dr. Noor Azizi shared with the Directors the criteria against which the potential value of any research project was gauged, or the characteristics that the MoHE expected worthwhile research to have, thus helping to point researchers in the right direction towards securing funding for their research projects.
He said that every researcher should first come up with a proposal based on an extraordinary research idea that had the potential of making a huge impact on the community, before sending it forth to the ministry.
He added that the opportunities for research were open not only to research universities (RUs), but to any university that planned to carry out high-impact research.
Prof. Dr. Noor Azizi, who is the former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) of UUM, also shared his experience of a recent working visit to China, which, he said, had become much more advanced, primarily in the field of technology.
This discourse involving Prof. Dr. Noor Azizi was organised by the Research and Innovation Management Centre (RIMC). Also present at the discourse was the Director of the RIMC, Prof. Dr. Mohd Azizuddin Mohd Sani.
