These students will pursue their undergraduate studies in 36 programmes offered at UUM.
The arrival of the new students to UUM was welcomed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Seri Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak. The students took their pledge of loyalty as UUM undergraduates in a ceremony at the Bukit Kachi Hall recently.
In his speech, Prof. Dato’ Seri called attention to the importance of mastering knowledge, especially when the country prepares for the changes to undergo the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).
"Nowadays, a whole world of knowledge is available at your fingertips. Everyone can access various information via mobile phones and we just 'google' whatever information is needed.
Nevertheless, I would like to emphasise that students should not just blithely cut and paste without reading or evaluating the whole information. I would like to urge all students to read the whole book or material rather than 'google' parts of it," said the Vice-Chancellor.
