UUM ONLINE: 3 November -The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Seri Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak and senior Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) officials tested out the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) services from Kajang to Sungai Buloh yesterday.
The UUM delegation comprising 30 senior officials boarded the MRT at the Kajang MRT Station at 3:00 pm and arrived at Sungai Buloh MRT station about an hour later.
The main aim of the UUM delegation testing out the rail-based public transport was to have first-hand experience of using the most modern and sophisticated MRT services launched by the Prime Minister, aimed at reducing traffic congestion with the target of decreasing a total of 160,000 vehicles flowing into the capital city every day.
The second phase of the Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line (SBK) was launched by the Prime Minister on 17 July.
The total distance of the Sungai Buloh-Kajang route (SBK) involves 51 kilometres which runs across 31 stations including seven underground stations, with the integration of LRT routes at Central Market, Maluri, and Merdeka stations integrating with the Plaza Rakyat LRT station.
