UUM ONLINE: Kuala Lumpur, 30 January - Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Multimedia Technology Enhancement Operations Sdn. Bhd. (METEOR) to develop a new financial system.
The MoA was signed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) UUM, Prof. Dr. Ayoib Che Ahmad and the Chief Executive Officer of METEOR Sdn. Bhd., Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mansor Fadzil at the Open University Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.
METEOR Sdn. Bhd. will provide and develop the Financial Management System (FIMS) software for UUM to replace the existing IFAS Financial System.
FIMS is a comprehensive financial and accounting system that integrates with the existing system which includes the Student Management System, the Research System and the Human Resource Management System.
With FIMS, the financial information can be obtained more quickly and accurately. Furthermore, the FIMS will ensure that the financial processes and procedures at the Bursar Department, the Centres of Authority and UUM will become more efficient. The FIMS system is expected to commence operations by early 2019.
Incorporated in 1998, METEOR was formed by a consortium of eleven Malaysian public universities including UUM, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Malaya and Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia.
