UUM Vice-Chancellor Receives The Prestigious 2017 CEEMAN Champions Award For Institutional Management

UUM ONLINE: 15 February - Persistent and assiduous efforts by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Seri Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak to bring Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) to the world stage has entitled him to become the recipient of the prestigious 2017 CEEMAN Champions Award For Institutional Management.

The award was presented by CEEMAN Director of International Quality Accreditation (IQA), Dr. Alenka Braek Lalic to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr. Ayoib Che Ahmad, who represented Prof. Dato' Seri Vice- Chancellor at the Visitors’ Lounge, this morning.

Prof. Dr. Ayoib, as the representative of the Vice-Chancellor and UUM collegiate family, expressed his utmost appreciation to CEEMAN for acknowledging the persistent efforts by UUM to offer high-quality education and also to become the eminent management university in the region.

Meanwhile, OYAGSB (Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business), a member of CEEMAN, is expected to embark on collaborative ventures in the future, especially in efforts to improve the quality of academic services, research and publication activities as well as to provide first-class services to the community.

He sincerely believed that UUM and CEEMAN will exchange and share knowledge on the best practices in managing business schools as it is our wish that UUM will follow in the footsteps of high-ranking and renowned business schools in Europe and the United Kingdom as certified by CEEMAN.

Meanwhile, Dr. Alenka explained that CEEMAN was established in 1993 and it is an international association of management development institutions interested in improving the quality of management and leadership development.

At present, CEEMAN has more than 220 members from more than 55 countries in Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa and Asia. OYAGSB is one of CEEMAN's members in Malaysia.

Also present at the event were the members of the delegation from CEEMAN, Prof. Hendrik Sebastiaan (Drikus) Kriek and and Professor of Management at the University of Strathclyde, Prof. Peter McKiernan; the Dean of OYAGSB, Prof. Zeljko Sevic and senior officers of OYAGSB.
