UUM ONLINE: 4 March - The Annual Quarterly Achievement (January-December) of the UUM Strategic Plan Phase 2 2017 was tabled at a meeting held at the Senate Meeting Room today.
The meeting which was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Seri Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak, was held to review the achievements received by the University throughout the year 2017 based on four major thrusts involving all Centres of Authority and Schools.
The Vice-Chancellor began the meeting by commending the efforts undertaken by all parties in achieving the agenda of the UUM Strategic Plan Phase 2 for the year 2017.
"Although there is an agenda that remains unsuccessful for the year 2017, we must continue to work hard to achieve the 2018 agenda.
"I would also like to congratulate UUM for achieving 4 Stars in the Malaysian Research Assessment (MyRA) for 2016," he said.
The Annual Quarterly Achievement (January-December) UUM Strategic Plan Phase 2 2017 was presented by the Director of UUM Institute of Quality Management (IPQ), Prof. Dr. Nor Aziah Abd Manaf.
According to her, overall UUM's achievement in 2017 was better compared to the previous year.
"UUM's overall achievement in 2017 showed that 66% of the 186 Performance Indicators (PIs) was green, 11% yellow, 19% red and 4% black.
"Overall, this achievement for the year 2017, 77% PI recorded green and yellow status compared to 66% in the previous year," she explained.
According to her, the achievement of 2017 was important as the data would be incorporated in the reports submitted to MyRA, QS Ranking, Times Higher Education and UI Green.
"Hence, Centres of Authority and Schools are expected to send the accurate data according to the Key Performance Index that has been determined," she added.
Through the presentation, several areas which required improvements were identified namely number of publications, grants, active involvement of Centres of Excellence, talent coaching, recognition and awards, student activities that brought about impact and financial resources generation.
