UUM ONLINE: Participants from Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand gained priceless experience as they were presented with the opportunity to unleash their potentials and strengthen their international networking at the 20th IMT-GT Varsity Carnival, 2018. The carnival is hosted at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Arau, Perlis.
A Bachelor of Marketing student from UUM, Norsyahirah Shafie participated in the IMT-GT seminar which highlighted the theme - Moving Towards Industrial Revolution (IR4.0); The Role Of Youth In Virtual Entrepreneurship.
She explained that the seminar focuses on the role of youth in virtual entrepreneurship and participants at the seminar discovered in-depth information on to how to prepare academic papers including the abstract and the citation.
"We also discovered the tremendous magnitude of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the impact on youth and the role of youth in virtual entrepreneurship.
"We were given the opportunity to become acquainted with students from various countries and we also visited interesting destinations including Langkawi," she added.
A Bachelor of Banking student, Mohd Iqbal Ahmad Azahari competed in the tennis events. "The game was very intense and this time we managed to get to the semi-final and I hope to be able to perform well and bring home a medal for UUM," he added.
The theme for this year’s carnival is - Winning is good but friendship is number one. A total of 1,000 participants from 12 universities namely Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Teknologi Mara Perlis (UiTM Perlis), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Prince of Songkla (PSU), Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED) and Universitas Syiah Kuala (UNSYIAH) took part in the carnival.
