UUM ONLINE: The outstanding achievements accentuated by the Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) UUM Chapter are recognised when it was awarded the Highest Chapter Honor.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dato' Seri Dr Mohamed Mustafa Ishak said the recognition was a result of the achievements attained by BGS Chapter UUM from the previous year until present and that many of the other universities were not eligible to receive such a coveted award.
According to him, there were three categories of the award, the Highest Chapter Honor, the Higher Chapter Honor and also the Honor.
"UUM is proud of being chosen to be the recipient of the highest award and the award will be presented at the AACSB ICAM Conference in April 2019.
"Congratulations as well to UUM COB as this is the best recognition given to the BGS UUM Chapter which was apprised by the BGS from USA itself and the result of this award also qualifies us to receive scholarship sponsorships for UUM students to attend the Global Leadership Summit in Chicago this year.
"In addition, it also allows BGS UUM Chapter to be nominated for the BGS Annual Award namely Outstanding Chapter, Best Dean, Best BGS Advisor and Best Entrepreneurial Leaderships Award," he said.
He further reiterated that the name of BGS UUM Chapter will also be posted on the BGS website in the section which the names of the recipient of the Chapter Honor Evaluation are listed.
BGS UUM Chapter is the first in Malaysia and is the fifth in the Southeast Asia region is made up of 75 of UUM’s best students from six schools under the auspices of UUM COB and UUM COLGIS.
The establishment of Beta Gamma Sigma as an honorary academic association recognised by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) aims to acknowledge outstanding students in the field of business in institutions recognised by AACSB.
