UUM ONLINE: 7 October - The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani received a courtesy visit from the Director General of the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dato' Mohamad Sadik Kethergany at the Visitors’ Lounge, this morning.
Dato' Mohamad Sadik Kethergany’s visit to UUM was in conjunction with the Diploma in Diplomacy (DiD) 2018 programme, a programme jointly organized by The SoIS Asian Institute of International Affairs and Diplomacy (AIIAD), UUM with IDFR which also incorporated the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme and Leadership Skills from 2 April to 11 October 2018.
During the meeting, Dato' Mohamad Sadik talked about the three-day programme carried out at UUM and the surrounding areas. He also mentioned about his visit to the Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Safety Complex (ICQS) at Bukit Kayu Hitam, his trek up the Bukit Raya hill and he also briefly shared his knowledge with fellow attendees.
The objective of DiD 2018 was to provide exposure to young diplomats on the field of diplomacy and international relations and to equip them with the basic professional skills required of Malaysian Diplomatic Officers as well as the much needed confidence before they embark on their diplomatic careers.
The programme which was attended by 16 officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was the result of discussions between UUM and the Director General of IDFR during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between IDFR and UUM in August.
