UUM ONLINE: Zakat Fitrah (religious tithe) is a compulsory form of religious almsgiving that is prescribed to Muslims during Ramadan. The literal meaning of Zakat Fitrah is cleansing or purifying and the collected zakat fitrah will be used to help the poor and needy in making preparations to welcome Aidilfitri.
Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) launched the collection of Zakat Fitrah 1437H this morning. The ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs & Alumni) Assoc. Prof. Dr Abdul Malek Abdul Karim at the Foyer of the Chancellery building this morning.
UUM ONLINE: About 50 orphans from the Rumah Pengasih Warga Prihatin were feted at a breaking of the Ramadan with Celebrities at the Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside Hotel, yesterday.
The event was organised by the second semester students of Bachelor of Creative Industry Management with Honours (BCIM) of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Kuala Lumpur campus with the cooperation and support from the Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside Hotel.
