34TH UUM CONVOCATION CEREMONY STAFF FETED AT APPRECIATION CEREMONY

L appresiasi 1UUM ONLINE: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) recently honoured its staff for sacrificing their time and energy to ensure the success of the 34th UUM Convocation Ceremony.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr Haim Hilman Abdullah, the 34th UUM Convocation Staff Appreciation Ceremony was held as a sign of gratitude and appreciation for the staff who have given a significant amount of commitment throughout the convocation that took place from November 6 to 10 November.

"The convocation is a very important ceremony that is done with all of one's heart and soul, putting in a significant amount of energy, time, and serious effort to make sure that everything goes smoothly," he said.

He elaborated on how the convocation ceremony is the culmination of all UUM events due to the extensive protocol that surrounds it.

The ceremony was attended by His Royal Highness the Sultan of Kedah, the Chancellor; His Royal Highness The Raja Muda of Kedah, the Pro-Chancellor; His Royal Highness Tunku Mahkota of Kedah, the Tunku Pro-Chancellor; and His Royal Highness Tengku Tan Sri Dr. Mahaleel Tengku Arif, the Pro-Chancellor.

According to him, UUM also organised the Convocation Fair from 3 to 11 November which was successfully run by UUM students.

"Praise be to Allah! with the cooperation of all parties, this wonderful ceremony went smoothly; therefore, I would like to express my deepest appreciation to all parties involved directly or indirectly in the management of UUM's 34th Convocation Ceremony.

"Congratulations to all the committees that have poured ideas, energy, and time into creating valuable experiences for everyone to enjoy together," he said yesterday at the Mu'adzam Shah Hall.

In addition, he thanked fellow UUM retirees Mr. Salleh Hudin Mustaffa, Mdm. Eylani Ahmad, Mr. Mohd Zamri Ahmad, Ir. Dr. Uzairin Saidin, Mr. Majid Hashim, and Mr. Md. Dzuki Din for their unwavering dedication to contributing their thoughts and energy.

As a token of his gratitude, Prof. Dr Haim presented the honoured staff with certificates of appreciation and unique keepsakes to commemorate their service at the previous convocation ceremony.

Attendees also watched a special video screening of memorable moments from UUM's 34th Convocation Ceremony produced by Unifilm Studio (SCIMPA) as well as cultural performances from the UUM Culture and Arts Centre, the UUM Co-Curriculum Centre and the School of Creative Industry Management and Performing Arts (SCIMPA), Culture and Arts Centre.
