EKOSISTEM KONDUSIF SEKTOR AWAM (EKSA)
Ekosistem Kondusif Sektor Awam (EKSA) is a rebranding of the 5S practice introduced to strengthen the culture of excellence within the public sector. EKSA emphasizes the importance of creating a systematic, clean, safe, and customer-friendly working environment. Beyond physical workspace management, it also promotes innovation, integrity, and customer-oriented practices, thereby enhancing the corporate image of organizations.
The implementation of EKSA brings significant benefits by fostering a more conducive and productive workplace. It focuses on organized office management, optimal use of resources, and the integration of green values and environmental sustainability. EKSA also highlights the importance of harmonious, ethical, and inclusive working relationships, ensuring that staff can collaborate effectively to achieve shared goals.
In addition, EKSA serves as a catalyst for improving the quality of public service delivery. Through efficient and transparent management, organizations are able to provide faster, friendly, and more customer-focused services. EKSA also encourages creativity and innovation among staff, positioning organizations to remain competitive and relevant in addressing contemporary challenges.
Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) officially launched the implementation of EKSA on 19 September 2023, officiated by the Vice-Chancellor of UUM. This initiative reflects UUM’s commitment to strengthening a conducive work culture and enhancing its corporate image as a leading international educational institution. To ensure systematic implementation, UUM established seven main zones: Akasia, Tekoma, Bougainvillea, Sintok, Meranti, Cengal, and Gajus. These zones are designed to reinforce workspace management, nurture teamwork, and ensure consistent and effective adoption of EKSA practices across the university.
