1.7 ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT
DEFINITION
The ability and willingness to align one’s own behaviour with the needs,
priorities and goals of the organization.
BEHAVIORAL INDICATORS
• Understands the mandate and work of organisation. Shows
enthusiasm for contributing to organisation’s success. Is politically
and organizationally aware and applies this awareness for the
organization’s good.
• Demonstrates loyalty and commitment to the aims, principles and
purposes of organisation’s mandate and vision. Is familiar with, and
adheres to, the organisation Code of Ethics and policy.
• Effectively defends organisation’s mandate in a variety of settings
regardless of obstacles and challenges encountered. Strives to gain
commitment from others.
• Build knowledge and expertise which would add value to the outcome
of organisation’s objectives.
• Acting in ways that promote organizational goals or meet
organizational needs.
• Putting an organizational mission before one’s own preferences.
